I get lots of things for FREE at http://www.frecycle.org. You can also get rid of your JUNK (or stuff) by posting for people to come get your stuff. I post if I want something. I got a dehydrator for NOTHING. It will cost you time to go and pick up the item, but the item itself is FREE.

Day 7: Eat 1 less meal a week at a restaurant.
By eating at home instead of eating out, just 1 meal a week, has saved us almost 200.00/month. We are a family of 5 and to eat out costs us nearly 50.00 a meal at an inexpensive restaurant. It can be 75.00 for an extra nice place.
Try saving this money instead for a rainy day.

Day 6: Get a Magazine or paper subscription and save 30-50%
I like to read several magazines on a regular basis. I like the family handyman, and Reader's Digest. If I pay cover price at the store, I would pay 50% more than a subscription price for the same magazines.

Day 5: Switch to store brands and save on groceries
One of the ways I save on groceries is to switch to a store brand for groceries. You can save 10-20% on the store brands for cereal, canned fruits, and canned vegetables.

Day3: Save on your electric bill
Here are 3 easy ways to save on your electric bill:
- As your light bulbs burn out, replace them with cf (compact florescent) bulbs. You can buy them in bulk from walmart or home depot or lowes. I have seen them as inexpensive as 5 for 10.00 or 2.00/bulb. I put the date on the light bulb of when I installed the light, so I can track how often bulbs need to be replaced. I had 4 recessed lights in my kitchen and 1 always burned out before the rest, I replace the fixture and saved money on light bulbs.
- Turn off the lights every time you leave a room. Mythbusters did a show on this and found that you will save electricity if you turn off the lights every time you leave the room.
- If it's not in use, turn it off. Turn off the tv, vcr, dvd, dvr, and any other electronics that you have on.

Pick your own fruits and save
Check out site: www.pickyourown.org and find your local pick your own or upick farm. You can save 30-50% on if you pick your own fruits. Make sure and call ahead to see what's ready and the hours. It's a great way to stock up and if you make jams and jellies, it's a great way to enjoy the fruits of your labor all year long!

Day 2: Save on Swimwear for the kids...
Shop for swimwear for the kids 1 year ahead. That means in late July, most retailers put their summer merchandise on clearance. That is when I buy the kids swimwear for the next summer.
